Doug Wagner A native Montanan, Doug Wagner was raised in Glendive, MT. He holds a degree in Finance, Marketing from the University of Montana-Missoula. Doug’s knowledge of wine began with an unpleasant experience making wine with his father (CHOKE Cherry). His next major wine adventure occurred in Seattle where he was practicing his wine tasting skills while working as a Mechanical Estimator and HVAC salesman. This adventure lasted 5 years and included most of the wineries in a 200-mile radius. Doug then moved back to Missoula, bringing his wife Ramona with him. Over the next 7 years they made numerous batches of beer and wine. Doug and Ramona’s goal is to own a small winery, producing quality wine at a reasonable price. In July of 2002 they took the first real step towards attaining their goal registering the name of ClearWeather Wines with the State of Montana. Over the next several months they purchased, crushed, pressed and fermented over 7,000 lbs of Washington wine grapes, which you can now see in various barrels and containers in the Tank Room. Doug's duties at Lolo Peak include Tank Room Management, Research and Development, Bottling, Floor Mopping and lots of other odds and ends. |
